Point # 2 : Getting Started - Defining your niche

Now that your have created your email id, you will have to decide what kind of services or products that you will be selling.

There are 1001 products and services being sold over the internet and with over than a billion websites to compete with. How do you make your products or services different that the other guy. If your competiting against the same market segment, how do you make your product or services better than other guy, what are the attractions or value-added services that you can offer better, faster and more reliable than the other guy.

To find out your niche market, you have to do some research.

1. Decide on products or services your are going to enter
2. Determine what is the marker segment. However, if this is not possible, try to gauge the competitiveness.
3. Do market segment analysis. Sound complicated. Well, Google has developed various tools to help you with this. Experiment with some of Google tools freely available. You wont regret it.
4. Know your competitors
5. See how they sell the products or services. How does their website looks like, how the market it so on and so forth.
6. Next, develop your plan of action.
7. Review your plan of action and execute them.

These are some techniques that can be adopted whether your are developing new businessess or expanding your businesses. Even if you are a beginner, you could also benefit from this exercise.
